How to enable location services for BZZR
If you're getting blocked or seeing a location error even though you're inside the Rangers broadcast area, this page will get you fixed up. It happens to a lot of folks and it's an easy fix.
Why BZZR needs your location
BZZR checks your location to confirm you're inside the Rangers broadcast area — Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, and New Mexico. This is a broadcast-rights requirement. If location is turned off, or you tapped "Don't Allow" when asked, you'll be blocked even when you're in the right place. Turning it on for BZZR clears it up.
After you enable location using the steps for your device below, close and reopen the app (or refresh the page) and try again.
iPhone / iPad (iOS)
- Open Settings
- Tap Privacy & Security → Location Services
- Make sure Location Services is toggled on (green) at the top
- Scroll down and tap BZZR
- Set it to While Using the App, and turn on Precise Location
Android phone / tablet
The exact wording varies a little by brand (Samsung, Pixel, and so on), but the path is the same:
- Open Settings
- Tap Location and turn Use location on
- Go to Apps → BZZR → Permissions → Location
- Choose Allow only while using the app, and turn on Use precise location
Mac (macOS)
For the BZZR app or a browser at bzzr.com:
- Open the Apple menu → System Settings
- Click Privacy & Security → Location Services
- Turn Location Services on
- In the list, make sure BZZR (or your browser — Safari, Chrome) is checked
- If you're watching in a browser, also allow location for bzzr.com when the browser prompts you (or in the browser's site settings for bzzr.com)
Windows
For a browser at bzzr.com:
- Open Settings (Windows key + I)
- Go to Privacy & security → Location
- Turn on Location services
- Turn on Let apps access your location and make sure your browser is allowed
- In your browser, allow location for bzzr.com when prompted (or under the site's permissions)
Still blocked after turning it on?
- Close and reopen the BZZR app, or refresh the page.
- Press play again.
If you're inside the five-state territory and still can't watch, we want to know — reach out at Contact Support and we'll dig in with you. For other "can't watch" causes (like being on an old app version or signed into the wrong account), see [link to Troubleshooting page].
