Cast BZZR to your TV, step by step

Casting is a great way to watch on your television — especially handy while the Roku, Samsung, and LG apps are still on the way (expected around August/September; see Watch on TV).

One important note first: the BZZR apps don't have a built-in "Cast" button yet. So instead of tapping a cast icon inside the app, you'll use your device's own screen mirroring / casting feature (or, on a computer, your web browser's cast feature) to send the picture to your TV. It works the same way — just started from your device rather than from inside BZZR. Here's exactly how, for every setup.

Good news: in-app casting is on the way — we're building a Cast button right into the BZZR app, expected next week. Once it's live, you'll be able to cast straight from BZZR without the extra steps below.

Before you start (two quick checks)

  1. Your phone/computer and your TV need to be on the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Your TV streaming device — Chromecast, Google TV, or Apple TV — should be powered on and ready.

That's what trips people up most often, so it's worth a look before you begin.

From an iPhone or iPad → Apple TV (Screen Mirroring)

  1. Open Control Center (swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen)
  2. Tap Screen Mirroring
  3. Choose your Apple TV (or AirPlay-enabled TV) from the list
  4. Open the BZZR app and start the game — it'll play on your TV

To stop, open Control Center again, tap Screen Mirroring, and choose Stop Mirroring.

From an Android phone or tablet → Chromecast / Google TV (Cast screen)

The most reliable way is through the Google Home app:

  1. Open the Google Home app
  2. Tap your TV device, then tap Cast my screen
  3. Open the BZZR app and start the game

Many phones also have a quick-settings shortcut for this — swipe down from the top and look for Cast, Screen cast, or (on Samsung) Smart View, then pick your TV. The exact name varies by brand.

From the web on a Mac

To a Chromecast or Google TV (Chrome browser):

  1. Play the game at bzzr.com in Chrome
  2. Click the three-dot menu (top-right) → Cast…
  3. Choose your TV, and Chrome will cast the tab to it

To an Apple TV (Screen Mirroring):

  1. Click Control Center in the Mac menu bar → Screen Mirroring
  2. Choose your Apple TV
  3. Play the game at bzzr.com — it'll appear on your TV

From the web on Windows → Chromecast / Google TV (Chrome or Edge)

  1. Play the game at bzzr.com in Chrome or Edge
  2. In Chrome: three-dot menuCast…. In Edge: three-dot menuCast media to device
  3. Choose your TV, and the browser will cast the tab to it

Note: screen mirroring to an Apple TV isn't available from Windows. To watch on a TV from a Windows setup, use a Chromecast or Google TV, or watch through the Apple TV / Fire TV app instead.

Casting to a Sony, Vizio, or other Google TV

Many smart TVs — including most Sony models and some Vizios — run Google TV with Chromecast built in. If your TV has the Google Play Store on it, it has Chromecast built in, so you can mirror or cast to it using the steps above. No separate Chromecast device needed.

Not seeing your TV, or no sound?

  • TV not showing up? Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi, and that the TV device is powered on. Then try starting the mirror/cast again.
  • Picture but no sound? Check that your TV isn't muted and the volume is up, and that your phone isn't on silent — with screen mirroring, a silenced phone can mute the audio going to the TV.
